In 1960, Shirley Anne Field exploded on to the film scene as the star of two iconic films – Saturday Night, Sunday Morning and The Entertainer. Then throughout the 60s her star faded until a late career resurgence with My Beautiful Laundrette and Hear My Song.

This short documentary tells the story of Shirley Anne’s life and career, and through her, the British film industry since the late 1950’s and attitudes towards women in films and the media.

Currently in development to shoot this summer, this short will act as proof of concept for a feature length film.
